The programme's approach
Technology writing tends to live at two extremes: technical documents written for people who already know everything, and "click here" recipes that explain nothing. This programme does neither. Each lesson first builds the concept itself in everyday language, then gives you a concrete step you can apply today. Rather than brand and model details, we focus on principles that stay true as devices and services change: why a password's length matters more than its complexity, why synchronisation does not count as a backup, which patterns a phishing email relies on.
Nothing in the programme links to a product for sale; the types of services mentioned as examples exist only to make the concepts concrete.
How the modules unfold
The programme moves in three layers. The Language of Technology lays the conceptual foundation: hardware and software, the operating system, the RAM–storage distinction, and the difference between an application and an online service. Files, Cloud and Backups teaches you to organise and protect your data: folder structure, file versions, synchronisation and 3-2-1 backups. Account and Device Security then protects your accounts: password security, two-factor authentication, phishing and account recovery. At the end, the programme assessment lets you check what you have learned.
How to get the most out of it
Read the lessons with your own device at hand; the practice task at the end of each one is designed to be done on your actual phone or computer. The tasks are small but they add up: by the end of the programme your passwords, backups and recovery details will be concretely better off. Yes. The programme assumes no prior knowledge; every concept is built from scratch in everyday language, and the lessons follow a sequence.
